Using Department Copier to scan documents

You can make use of the Copier on the third floor of SR-1 232, to scan documents; this makes it easy to do volume scanning. Perform the following steps to first scan the documents

  1. On the scanner select the “Image Send” button.
  2. Place the documents one page at a time (FACE DOWN).
  3. On the copier LCD select the “Address Book”
  4. Now select “Scan to FTP” from the ‘Frequently Used’ section
  5. The document is ready to be scanned, press the large, round copy button – after the scan is complete a message pops up prompting you to scan more documents at which point you can take out current page and insert the next page and press the copy button again to scan (continue till your last page) OR just press “Read-End” which completes the scanning process and sends the scan as a PDF file to a shared folder on the network.
  6. Before you leave the copier, press the “Copy” button to reset the copier to Copy mode.
  7. To obtain this scanned file, login to your PC account in the 2nd floor computer lab (room 230/232), open up a “My Computer” window and enter \\geoscdom\scanner in the “Address Section” and press enter.
  8. You will get a listing of all files scanned in the last 30 days, you can sort the files according to date and retrieve your files. Make sure you delete the files from this folder if the files are confidential etc.
