Running Seisup    

 

Seisup is available on the AGL Beowulf cluster (Margaret.geosc.uh.edu) so you need to explicitly have an account on this system.

 

  1. To use seisup either login from one of the SINGLE HEADED workstations in the computer lab or if you are using Thinanywhere to Margaret.geosc.uh.edu. Using a single headed workstation is important since seisup WILL NOT run on DUAL headed workstations.
  2. So for example you login to a workstation in the computer lab, then open a terminal window, in that window key in “ssh +x  margaret” (the +x is necessary to forward X-DISPLAYS to your local terminal)
  3. after that  when you are prompted for your password, (as above) input your password and then run the command “seisup” as shown below
  4. You will get the resulting Seisup window.
