Sharing data within and outside the Campus
There are several
ways to share your data with others, usually if you are within the campus and
both parties have accounts on the GEOSC PC domain, then you can make use of the
share folder.
- After you login to your PC account in
the computer lab, in an explorer window type in \\geoscdom.geosc.uh.edu\share
and you will see a window pop up, copy your files to this folder and then
ask the other person to do the same and they can copy your file from the “share
folder”, note: files older than 30 days are deleted automatically. NOTE:
If you are on a computer not in the lab, you may be asked to input a userid and password just use the one for your PC
account.

- You can make use of the Geosciences
Anonymous FTP server to send someone a file if they are off campus and the
file is too big to be sent as an email attachment. Read the section on Geosciences
Anonymous FTP for more details.
